What to Expect on Sunday Mornings

At Sibley CRC, we joyfully gather to worship God through singing, praying, and hearing God's word together. Expect a warm welcome. We love to have visitors!

What should I wear?

Come as you are comfortable. Some people wear blue jeans; some wear dresses or dress pants. Wear what makes you feel comfortable.

What time should I come?

People show up for church any time between 9:00 and 9:30. Conversations in the entryway usually taper off around 9:25 as people make their way into the sanctuary.

How long does the service last?

The service typically lasts until about 10:30 or 10:45.

Is there fellowship time?

Some people visit for a while before church. Coffee is served before church, and you are welcome to bring it into the service. After church, many people gather in the fellowship hall and enjoy one another's company along with bars or cookies and coffee, tea, or juice.

What should I know about the Lord's Supper/communion?

On the 2nd Sunday of the month, we celebrate the Lord's Supper together during the morning service. Elders bring the bread and juice to each person, and we partake of the elements together. All who believe that Jesus died for their sins and are baptized members of a church are invited to join in the Lord's Supper.

Evening Services

We have an evening service at 5PM from around April to November. This service takes place in the fellowship hall and tends to feel more casual than the morning service.
